My wife has the Dell Studio 1458. I will list the current specs below. It does have discrete graphics. Wondering what the fastest CPU option would be. Currently has the i5 460M.

It was shipped with the i7-740QM CPU. Since you already have an i5, unless you can find this CPU at a very low price, note that it's not going to be a dramatic upgrade. You'd be better off replacing the hard drive with a SATA solid state drive - that will make far more of an impact than upgrading the CPU will (the upgraded CPU will still be bound by the GPU, which can't be upgraded and is nearing the better part of a decade old).
