Inspiron 15 7000(7537) series keyboard

Last night all of a sudden my keyboard just stopped recognizing any input.  The touchpad still works. I have tried all the following with no change.

Reboot after a complete shutdown.

Removed the battery, pressed power switch to discharge.

Removed and reattached both ribbon cables.

Ran Diagnostics and the only error was the CPU fan failed to respond correctly, don't think that is related but who knows?

Decided to try here since Dell Chat seems busy, before waiting on hold for who knows how long. At least I can still use the on screen keyboard to get somewhere.

I am running W 8.1 and current on all updates.  Only 6 months old.

Well, I guess it was just a software malfunction since after running for a full day with everything enabled again, the keyboard is back to working as it is supposed to. 

I guess this keyboard problem is history and maybe this will help others with similar problems.

Update this afternoon. Just performed a clean reboot and everything is working as designed.  Next I will try to restart and add in things one at a time until I find out where the conflict is.  Fingers crossed
