Hi
Simple question if I may please; can I upgrade the processor on my Inspiron 6000 and if so, to what ?
Thank you.

It will depend on what you have now.
Supported: Celeron M or Pentium M on the 400 or 533 MHz bus. Fastest: Pentium M 780, 2.26 GHz, 533 bus.
Not suppoted: any Pentium 4 or P4 based CPU, any Core (Core Solo, Core Duo, Core 2 Duo) or CPU derived from them.

So I see!! Where's the sense in that?
Is there a reason for this?
Thank husky.

You can, though when you start pricing these you might want to consider putting the money toward a newer system - they're not cheap.

Thank you husky. According to Everest, my Inspiron is running the following:
CPU Type Mobile Intel Celeron M 360J, 1400 MHz (14 x 100)
CPU Alias Dothan-1024
Instruction Set x86, MMX, SSE, SSE2
Original Clock 1400 MHz
So, preumsably I am able to upgrade to a "Pentium M 780, 2.26 GHz, 533 bus" ?
Thank you again.
