Inspiron N5110 secondary GPU MIA

Hi.

I have a Dell Inspiron n5110 laptop that came with an Intel HD main GPU and a secondary, more powerful Radeon HD GPU.

Now all of a sudden the Radeon is MIA. It's nowhere to be found on the device manager and I can't start the switchable graphics or catalyst control center (even after I installed the latest version)

So my question is, what's the cause of it? Is it possible it simply somehow got disconnected or has it just fried and how do I fix it?

If you don't see an entry for the AMD GPU in the device manager, chances are the chip has failed -- since it's not a separate part, the the only solution is a replacement mainboard.
