Is this forum India-specific?

Hi, friends!

Is this forum India-specific?

I joined the community on 17th Aug 2017, eager for information
about Dell Laptops and services.

I am planning to buy a Dell Laptop in India.

I posted a message on the very same date, eager for a reply. It was only today that I was directed to post my query here.

my question is: What about the scenario if the laptop runs
into any sort of problems, post-warranty period?

I found upon searching that the service centre that exists
in Mysuru is NOT an original service centre, but an
authorised service centre.

There is a difference between the two kinds of service
centres: Company's own service centres don't think about
profits regarding service, as it is about their brand
value. Authorised service centres always are into profits,
they don't care about the brand's value.

The brands that give the most troubles are the best brands
for them. Dell Vostro doesn't appear to have a company
service centre in Mysore.

I hope you understand.

I am eager to hear your response on the issue.

Rajib B

Hi Rajib,

Thanks for posting.

No, the Forum is available for all countries, however, most of the Dell Employees are in the USA.  To find out about warranties in India, you can go here:  http://dell.to/2yNLO5N

Usually, post warranty service can be done by the customer, the Dell authorized service center, or a local computer repair shop.

That's true, however I am located in the USA and have never been to India, so apologies if I do not understand what you're saying.

Tech Support can tell you where the service centers are located.

Thanks, Robert, for replying to my post. But I have not been able to find an email-Id. for the sales people. I just found this page with phone no.s: www.dell.com/.../sales-phone-numbers

My question remains unanswered. You have stated that the post warranty service can be done by the customer, the Dell authorized service center, or a local computer repair shop.

If you had any idea about the condition of service centres in India you would have to consider the message contained within my post regarding the authorised service centres.

But where is a Dell Service Centre in Mysuru?

Thank you, Robert, for replying!

Toll Free 4026 is Automated. One option leads to compuindia.com

But I was ultimately able to reach the Call Centre executive and put forward the thoughts I had, and I had asked you:

This lady, Ms. Uma, provided me the contact no. of one Mr. Akshay, no.08025106993,  of Warranty Extension Service. She also informed that warranty extension service is valid up to 5 years.

The call is linking and then getting disconnected. I will try a couple of times more.

Thank you once again.

No, I tried the entire day for the no. 08025106993. This is a prank no. The call is received, music is played, and then the call is disconnected.

The call details are here: drive.google.com/open

Have you tried initiating a chat session?

Thanks for returning back to this thread. I assumed that this thread was dead.
When I click on "Support/All Support", it takes me back to the Service Tag page: www.dell.com/.../indhs1

The page asks for "Enter a Service Tag"
This is where the "Contact Us" leads to:
http://www.dell.com/support/contents/in/en/indhs1/category/contact-information?~ck=mn

I can't find a Chat Link.

Which will require me to register with Twitter or Facebook. I had, many years back, but I did not like these social networking sites, where my replies are not that personal.

My last query / post was regarding a chat link.

So Dell doesn't have a proper India Support! Figures why Dell isn't that visible in India.
