Vostro A860 CPU upgrade

Hello there, I've got an old Dell Vostro A860 laptop I use for work.  It currently has a T8300 Core 2 Duo CPU.  I have the opportunity to purchase a P9600 which is faster and has double the cache memory (6mb v 3mb) very cheaply.  The question is... would it fit and work properly in my laptop?
