latitude x300 video card
hi, i have dell latitude x300. when i turn it ON the screen goes black, it flashes 02 times and then very thin vertical lines appear on screen. hard disk sound is heard but nothing else happens.have also tried connecting external monitor but no response.
please do let me know what to do. somebody told me that video card is not working. need help

See if there is an image on an external display. If there is, it's the panel, not the video circuitry.
If the external monitor is similarly faulty, you'll need to replace the mainboard - everything in this model - video, CPU, etc., is soldered to the system board.

Have already checked the external display, no use.
is there any way i can avoid changing the complete board. it will cost me a fortune in pakistan.

Did you press Fn-F8 to switch to external monitor?
