7200 2-in-1 Can I use an external keyboard with the travel keyboard removed?

Hi everyone,

I'd like to set up my 2-in-1 to use it the tablet as screen 1 and connect it to a monitor for Screen 2. Because of this I'd also like to use a wired/wireless keyboard and remove the travel keyboard due to working from home a lot more so I can have a central keyboard if that makes sense. Before I buy one, will a keyboard work with the computer in 'tablet mode' ie. will it recognise a different keyboard with the travel keyboard detatched? 

Sorry if this is a stupid question but it is a new 'work' laptop and I'm still working from home so can't even test it in the office.
