Laptop shuts down when plug in power adapter

Laptop :- latitude 3560

OS :- WINDOWS 7 64 Bit

My laptop shuts down when I plug in the power adapter. But when I turned on the PC after plugin the Adapter, no problem.

Also my power option for " what to do when pressing power button" is poweroff/hibernate. When changed this option to "do nothing". then no problem exists. i can plug in anytime. what may be the reason?
