Latitude E5450 RAM extension problem

Hello

I have E5450 with default 8GB of RAM. I wanted to extend it to 12GB with my old 4GB from Kingston. Problem is that each time I insert the new 4GB - no matter which slot I choose, or if I insert it together with the 8GB, no matter if it's 8GB in slot A and 4GB in B, or the other way - laptop runs for a few seconds, the fan runs at very high speed and then the laptop turns off. What is the problem? Below are specs of the 4GB RAM.

Kingston 4 GB SO-DIMM DDR3 1600Mhz CL11 ValueRAM (DDR3, SO-DIMM, freq.: 1600 MHz, timing: 11-11-11)

My regards. Thanks for any help!

Greg

The 5450 RAM is DDR3L 1600. DDR 3 RAM will not work as it is the wrong voltage. Also the RAM specs are for 4, 8, or 16 GB not 12.

Feature Specification

Memory connector two SODIMM slots
Memory capacity
Intel 4th Generation Processors 4 GB or 8 GB
Intel 5th Generation Processors 4 GB, 8 GB, or 16 GB
Memory type DDR3L SDRAM (1600 MHz)
Minimum memory 4 GB
Maximum memory
Intel 4th Generation Processors 8 GB
Intel 5th Generation Processors 16 GB

Thank you for the reply. So, if I'd like to add some RAM, it can only be another 8GB 1600 DDR3L, so that eventually there 16GB?
