Nightmare to find a way to connect a hard drive to my latitude 7214 rugged.
Hi everyone,
I already posted before on this and I got recommended to buy this expensive caddy: https://www.ebay.es/itm/234500702925
But looking at it closely the pins that are seen in my computer HD entry don't correspond at the micro SATA connection that the caddy has. Or there is another piece missing and I need a different caddy type.
Under the pins of my computer's entry there is negative shape where the micro-sata would fit though but there are no pins.
It is all really confusing and I really need some help here.
Thank you

Would something like this not be needed: https://www.ebay.es/itm/254284803891 ? But it doesn't really work there either.
I unscrewed the backplate to see if I could have better access to the hardrive slot but it didn't looked easy to access there....

According to someone on Reddit, this part worked for him : https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-7FDR9-Dell-MSATA-Latitude-12-Rugged-Extreme-7204-195-2-/274871161379

The Dell part number of the carrier is 4RCRG. They're not exactly inexpensive anywhere, but here is one for far less than the one you posted.

Open up that caddy.
Provide a photo.
This is a rare laptop. Good luck finding someone with one to help you.

this is like the 396vv I shared the link to on ebay in the beginning post but looking at the HD slot of the computer, I can't see any pin on the part that seems to receive the caddy connection but there is this other small pin connection on top. It would be great if someone else with the same computer can share the HD slot to compare...
