latitude 7470 goes to windows 10 recovery mode after running Dell Command Update

Hi all, multi pronged question here. We manage a shop with a decent quantity of 7470 laptops, Windows 10 Pro 1909 currently, we are preparing to roll out 2004 but haven't yet. In the last couple weeks we've had two systems break Windows 10 after running Dell Command Update. The systems drop to Windows recovery mode and occasionally we can get them to boot in safe mode, but not consistently. In the interest of time we just reinstalled W10 and recovered users files from backups, but this situation has us quite concerned. With users working from home it's creating a mess of shipping out replacement laptops, etc. So, a few questions.

1) is anyone else having this issue?

2) How can we troubleshoot which driver update has caused the problem? And once determined, how do we roll back from that driver update?

3) Is Dell aware of this issue?

Some of our laptops are still under warranty, hoping this happens to one still covered so we can call support. In the meantime, reinstalling everything works for us and there haven't been any hardware failures. At this point it's only affected our 7470 laptops. The E7450 and newer 7400 laptops we have haven't been affected.

I'm open to any ideas. At this time we are becoming very hesitant to use Dell Command Update.

Thanks!

Just to clarify - we run Dell Command Update, the system installs drivers, then when it restarts, it can't boot properly and gives the user Windows recovery options. At this point since we are remote, we end up shipping them a replacement system.
