Dell Xps deleting everything

My Dell XPS is trying to delete every folder when I right click it. I have installed Kaspersky internet security, done updates and scanned but problem persists. When I delete from the middle of the line in google it deletes the whole line. Is this a virus or a hardware issue? Please help

This issue started after I installed the BIOS update in order to reduce the noise of the fan as recommended on the dell forum.
