Painfully slow Wifi on Ubuntu 20.04 on XPS 13 7390 Dev Edition
I recently upgraded my Ubuntu version from 19.10 (Eoan) to 20.04 (Fossa) on my XPS 13, which now runs Fossa on Kernel version 5.4.0-31. Fossa detects the Wifi card, and connects to my home network, but internet connection is very slow over Wifi.
**Failed fix**
Eoan didn't use to detect the Wifi card, so I had to install the backport-iwl-wifi on a slightly downgraded kernel: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1046589/backport-for-iwlwifi
That fix doesn't apply here.
Also removing the backports iwl package: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1230525/ubuntu-20-04-network-performance-extremely-slow didn't work.
Does anyone have a solution?

Yes, disable the intel wifi driver in the "Additional Drivers" section of "Software & Updates." This worked on my Precision 5540, should work on your XPS 13.

Thank you so much! This fixed my XPS 13 7390 issues of failing to establish network connection over Wifi on Ubuntu 18.04 after update to 5.4 kernel version.

I have the same slow wifi problem on my XPS 13 6390 since installing ubuntu 20.04.
My wife's work HP laptop gets speeds up in the 20s mbps, but mine is down around 2-4 mbps.
When i try the fix mentioned by @black_shirt I see no drivers at all listed in "Additional Drivers" - is there anything else that I can try?
My wireless driver is listed as `ath10k_pci`

I also have a same problem and its just one particular wifi which doesn't work while others work quite well. Any idea about the possible solution?

this is the only thing that made my AX1650 / XPS 15 6500 Xubuntu 20.04 work:
