Precision 5530: OEM image differences from stock Ubuntu
Hello all - just got a 5530 with Ubuntu 16.04 pre-installed, seems like a great machine so far. 18.04 is available, and I'd like to upgrade, but I'm a little gun shy because I don't know all the customizations (drivers, config file changes, etc) that Dell did to the stock 16.04 image to make all the hardware work properly (except the fingerprint scanner, which I can't figure out how to use).
I was wondering if there's an installation script or list of mods that I could use to make a clean install of 18.04 work properly. Thanks!

I have Precision 5520 that shipped with 16.04 and I'm also interested in upgrading to 18.04 at some point. From a few messages I've seen, it seems that Dell doesn't/won't support upgrading to 18.04. Is this true? If so, that's a real shame. I understand not supporting every release, but at least one LTS upgrade would be nice. Does anyone have any additional knowledge or experience doing this?
