Read me First
(Updated Feb 13, 2015)
As project Sputnik and the XPS 13 Developer Edition evolve we are continuously looking for input from the community to better our offering.
- Here on the Project Sputnik forum is the place to read and comment on your experience with Dell XPS 13 and M3800 developer editions, share new ideas or ask for help from the community. I and the other team members try to weigh in as time permits.
- For bugs you’ll want to submit them to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-sputnik/+bugs
- Note: The best way to get Dell to take official action is if you can place a service call.
- Note: anyone can read comments in the forum, but you will have to create a username to leave a comment.
- Click on ‘New Post’ below to share your experience with either the XPS 13 developer edition or the Precision M3800 developer edition aka Project Sputnik.
For updates on the project check out my blog: http://bartongeorge.net
Thanks!

Barton, if I may, I think I have something useful to add.
Before you post here with problems:
1. Please ensure you're either:
This is important, as those PPAs contain all the Sputnik drivers and fixes. Your problem may have already been fixed! If not, however, those PPAs will contain the fixes for any bugs you report. You need to have them enabled in order to get the fix.
2. If what you're about to post is a bug, please post a bug report on the Sputnik Launchpad page: https://bugs.launchpad.net/dell-sputnik
Feel free to post problems here as well (linking to your bug report), but if you at least post on the Launchpad page, developers get notified about your bug instead of happening across it on a forum.

Hello. Were those two PPAs supposed to be preconfigured on the production Developer Edition devices sold with Sputnik installed? Because mine didn't come with either of them.
Obviously sputnik-kernel is necessary ... Is sputnik-policykit still recommended too?

Hi,
I think they have changed the resources to:
http://dell.archive.canonical.com/updates/precise-dell public
This is the additional resource in my xps 13, which I have got today.

@utaro,
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, the software is meant to be installed.
I have just sent your post to the team and we are looking into this. To help us root-cause this, what country are you in?
I apologize for the glitch, stay tuned.

Hi utaro,
I also have not these software packages pre installed. But hey, if you need some of these packages use the Ubuntu Software center to get them all.
It's important, that Dell install the right kernel and specials, like touchpad drivers. All other software packages are easy to install the Ubuntu like way (software center)

I just recived an XPS13 with Ubuntu preinstalled.
But contrary to the announcements on the Web
en.community.dell.com/.../3687.software-dell-xps-13-laptop-developer-edition.aspx
all this software is not installed on my machine!
Is their a recommended procedure to install the promised software? What is the contents of the repo mentioned by bedaat?
