XPS 13 9360 and DA200 adapter: power issue

Hello all, I'm configuring my new XPS 13 9360 with archlinux. I have an issue with a dell usb-c adapter (DA200 Rev A02, ethernet, usb, hdmi and vga adaptator). The ethernet connection is lost periodically and very often (every minute or so). Here is an extract of dmseg: [ 2163.107899] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 (unnamed net_device) (uninitialized): Using pass-thru MAC addr 28:f1:0e:50:29:2f [ 2163.162551] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 eth0: v1.08.6 [ 2163.201041] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: renamed from eth0 [ 2163.222210] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2163.250220] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2167.316438] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): enp57s0u1u4: link becomes ready [ 2225.122695] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlp58s0: link is not ready [ 2288.348326] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: Stop submitting intr, status -71 [ 2288.527972] usb 4-1: USB disconnect, device number 75 [ 2288.527980] usb 4-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 76 [ 2288.832001] usb 4-1: new SuperSpeed USB device number 77 using xhci_hcd [ 2288.854994] hub 4-1:1.0: USB hub found [ 2288.855348] hub 4-1:1.0: 4 ports detected [ 2289.135439] usb 4-1.4: new SuperSpeed USB device number 78 using xhci_hcd [ 2289.236521] usb 4-1.4: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 78 using xhci_hcd [ 2289.258431] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 (unnamed net_device) (uninitialized): Using pass-thru MAC addr 28:f1:0e:50:29:2f [ 2289.317528] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 eth0: v1.08.6 [ 2289.334662] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: renamed from eth0 [ 2289.348519] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2289.374937] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2293.057219] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): enp57s0u1u4: link becomes ready [ 2351.475064] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: Stop submitting intr, status -71 [ 2351.638642] usb 4-1: USB disconnect, device number 77 [ 2351.638649] usb 4-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 78 [ 2352.006043] usb 4-1: new SuperSpeed USB device number 79 using xhci_hcd [ 2352.029078] hub 4-1:1.0: USB hub found [ 2352.029491] hub 4-1:1.0: 4 ports detected [ 2352.309971] usb 4-1.4: new SuperSpeed USB device number 80 using xhci_hcd [ 2352.410393] usb 4-1.4: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 80 using xhci_hcd [ 2352.433164] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 (unnamed net_device) (uninitialized): Using pass-thru MAC addr 28:f1:0e:50:29:2f [ 2352.487767] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 eth0: v1.08.6 [ 2352.501781] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: renamed from eth0 [ 2352.536079] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2352.565809] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2356.375979] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): enp57s0u1u4: link becomes ready [ 2414.537798] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: Stop submitting intr, status -71 [ 2414.702572] usb 4-1: USB disconnect, device number 79 [ 2414.702580] usb 4-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 80 [ 2415.133336] usb 4-1: new SuperSpeed USB device number 81 using xhci_hcd [ 2415.156158] hub 4-1:1.0: USB hub found [ 2415.157186] hub 4-1:1.0: 4 ports detected [ 2415.437153] usb 4-1.4: new SuperSpeed USB device number 82 using xhci_hcd [ 2415.534354] usb 4-1.4: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 82 using xhci_hcd [ 2415.556603] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 (unnamed net_device) (uninitialized): Using pass-thru MAC addr 28:f1:0e:50:29:2f [ 2415.608576] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 eth0: v1.08.6 [ 2415.622109] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: renamed from eth0 [ 2415.650812] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2415.679308] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2419.358119] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): enp57s0u1u4: link becomes ready [ 2477.648455] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: Stop submitting intr, status -71 [ 2477.806513] usb 4-1: USB disconnect, device number 81 [ 2477.806521] usb 4-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 82 [ 2478.330886] usb 4-1: new SuperSpeed USB device number 83 using xhci_hcd [ 2478.353699] hub 4-1:1.0: USB hub found [ 2478.354058] hub 4-1:1.0: 4 ports detected [ 2478.634692] usb 4-1.4: new SuperSpeed USB device number 84 using xhci_hcd [ 2478.735229] usb 4-1.4: reset SuperSpeed USB device number 84 using xhci_hcd [ 2478.757038] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 (unnamed net_device) (uninitialized): Using pass-thru MAC addr 28:f1:0e:50:29:2f [ 2478.808881] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 eth0: v1.08.6 [ 2478.821750] r8152 4-1.4:1.0 enp57s0u1u4: renamed from eth0 [ 2478.844614] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2478.873997] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): enp57s0u1u4: link is not ready [ 2482.645492] IPv6: ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): enp57s0u1u4: link becomes ready So it seems that the adapter itself is disconnected then instantly reconnected. Is it a know problem (basically I can't use my new laptop at work since I don't have a wifi connection...)? Thanks.

I have the same issue. I had to disable power management for the realtek usb device in the DA200.

To fix for me, edit /etc/default/tlp and add the following

USB_BLACKLIST="0bda:8153"

Could you tell us if this DE200 works or not ?

I now run archlinux with no problem. The issue was with antergos settings of power saving. Please note that the vga output does not work but the hdmi works like a charm.
