Keeping a windows partition after installing linux

Hello everyone,

Does anyone know if dell requires a version of windows to be installed if it has to besent in for repair?

I am going to be installing linux(ubuntu) on my XPS 15 9570, but i am not sure if I am able to just wipe the entire disk or if i have to leave the windows partition in check?

I know some manufacturers who require a version of windows to be installed if the device has to be repaird by them, but because dell also offers the XPS 13 with linux out of the box I am not sure.
