Ubuntu ISO image for the m1530?
Can I use this image to install Ubuntu 8.04 on my m1530?
http://linux.dell.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_8.04
My laptop originally came with Vista, but I would like to use Ubuntu instead.
Current laptop specs:
XPSM1530/Black/T8300/4GB RAM/250GB/Geforce 8600M/Intel Wireless N/Vista Ultimate 64

Welcome to the forums :emotion-21:
You don't have to use a specific Dell ISO image. Just download/install the latest original Ubuntu image off the Ubuntu website :emotion-5:
Remember though... Dell won't provide you with support, if/when you install Ubuntu... unless you dual-boot it with Vista.
They only provide support if you're still using the OS which was pre-installed on the system when you bought it :emotion-55:

Cannonical Non-dell customised UBUNTU 18.04 Bionic LTS (stable)
Link with latest updates pre-installed:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/bionic/daily-live/
U will see a folder with today's date, open it (DONT OPEN YESTERDAY"S FOLDER)
Download file : bionic-desktop-amd64.iso
These are generic ISOs released by Canonical, and works pretty well on my system.
Dell customised Ubuntu images are not listed in their servers, hence u will be unable to dwnld ( even if u had ubuntu out of the box)
I am in contact with Advanced Resolution Team & they're on it!!
For now, satisfy ur thirst with the link I gave^
