ati mobility x1300 support in linux

hi

I got the ati mobility radeon x1300 hypermemory in my new dell e1505 laptop. do any of you guys know if there is support for it in any of the linux versions. I found the proprietory driver in ati site but it only says it suports till x800. Also, atleast one of my friends had a problem installing x300 with fedora 5 on a desktop. Any info on this would be grat

thanks,
praveen

my e1505 arrives tomorrow and i'll load up VM and install linux and FreeBSD to see what happens.  I got the x1400 so if it works the x1300 should as well

I havent tried it on my new Dell E1505 with X1400. But it seems ATI has come up with new drivers.

They can be found here

Hi try_w,

I can actually try with the vmware but do you think u can share the laptop hardware(graphics card) with vmware. I am not sure if it is going to work.i used vmware for running some programs a year back but don't remember seeing anything like that. If there is a way, please let me know.

No for VM it does not use the same driver. I dont know which VM you are using but I know about VMware that it has internal drivers.

Well I think if the drivers are not for X1300 or X1400 we'll have to wait.

Regarding the normal operation your could try the normal VGA drivers i think they should work in normal mode.
