Command line for Dell Command Warranty Utility

Trying to get this DCIS tool installed and set up on our SCCM server.  The team would like to get warranty information through SCCM reports.

When I get to the command line part of the set up I'm not having much luck.

DellWarranty-CLI.exe setup_config returns:

Error: An invalid command line option (setup_config) was supplied

DellWarranty-CLI.exe /Ics=”Data Source=_server_;Database=_db_;Integrated Security=true;”  returns:

Error: An invalid command line option (Source=_server_;Database=_db_;Integrated) was supplied

I feel like I'm missing something simple, but searching hasn't turned up

_rightclick_,

You can find the manual to setting this up here. Are these the steps that you followed, and also, are you logged in as administrator on the system as well?

Yep. Logged in as admin.

Pretty standard .exe install.  Seems like it installed as expected.   The CommandIntegrationSuite folder has many files. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the .exe this time rightclicking the .exe and choosing to run as admin.

Running the CMD and Powershell windows as admin as well.

Still getting the same results when trying

DellWarranty-CLI.exe setup_config

or

DellWarranty-CLI.exe setup_config config_file=admin.cfg

Does DellWarranty-CLI.exe setup_config  only create the registry entries?

Would making these entries manually be an option?

It would save the configuration data to the registry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Dell\Warranty. I don't believe that you would be able to create it, as the data is encrypted.

has Dell addressed this yet?
