HELP FOR VM MIGRATION
Hello,
I need to migrate 6 virtual HBA connected VMs off a node that is no longer clustered. Our new approach is to create .vhdx files instead.
Here is what I want to do:
Take a host, four luns
1 1024 GB
2. 1024GB
3 3036 GB
4 2048
move it off the old server and on to our newer existing HYPER-V cluster running windows 2012 R2. We would rather use .vhdx files than virtual HBAs. The host is running sql.
Any advice would be most appreciated.

Hello Admingirl, not sure if you are trying to migrate from VMware to Hyper-V or just Passthru disks on Hyper-V to vhdx files on Hyper-V.

I am going from Hyper-V to Hyper-V and moving the VM and it's storage to another Hyper-V cluster.
The cluster is on the same VNX.

Are you going from Hyper-V 2012 R2 to Hyper-V 2012? There are differences in Hyper-V 2008 r2 and hyper-V 2012 R2 that make some direct migrations a little difficult. Exporting a virtual machine from windows server 2008 R2 and importing it to a server running Windows Server 2012 R2 is not supported.

Thankfully we are going from 2012 standard to 2012 R2.

Hello,
I just heard about this service while getting quote for 2 new servers from the Dell Server specialist. Normally, I have consulted because I do not have much experience with HyperV servers.I am wondering if any one has utiilized Dell services to migrate hyperVs from old 2 od physical servers/SAN to 2 new Dell physical servers. Any input is appreciated!
