2405FPW monitor

Hi, I am trying to contact Dell with regard to the above, unfortunately I need a service tag to contact Dell and as my monitor was bought separately there is no service tag so in a bit of a catch-22 as other have found. I also noted that the 2405FPW is no longer on the list of monitors that Dell know of. The 2407FPW is though.

My problem is that the Benq power supply board has had several components burn out. I have replaced the monitor (with another Dell) but it would be fun to fix the 2405FPW. I have the details of all except for the large resistor at R670 on the board.  I know it is 0.22ohm but do not know the watts. So does anyone have a circuit diagram or know the watts specs of this resistor.

Regards,
John

John,

Monitors smaller than 27" are given a Dell Order number if purchased directly from Dell. Those customers would contact Order Support, not Technical Support.

Dell does not repair monitors or sell internal monitor components. We do not even have monitor repair/disassembly documentation. We simply replace them while under warranty. You can try these 3rd party repair sites and see if they sell monitor components:

Hi Chris, as I bought the monitor in 2005, then it is well out of warranty. I do realise that Dell would not sell a resistor but hoped that Dell might have the specs of the components they used such as a Benq power supply board.

I will take a look at the sites you mention.

Regards,

John
