2408wfp and MacBook Pro DVI

Hi,

I got my 2408 today and immediatly plugged it to my MBP's DVI connection.

I am afraid to say that the text (black on white) was jagged and had a fuzzy aura round the letters. It was so bad both myself and the SysAdmin could not stare at the monitor with out getting a headache.

Are we doing something wrong? Is there anything I can try to fix this?

Thanks,

Daniel

PS The MBP has a GeForce 8600M GT graphics card with 256MB VRAM.

danboc,

Did you try both of the monitor DVI ports?

Hi Chris,

Yes, I tried both ports and also the VGA port.

Over the weekend I tried it with my friends Dell Latitude laptop. It was fuzzy there as well.

Maybe I should have the screen replaced?

You should be testing at the monitor optimal resolution of 1920x1200. Then, run the OSD (On Screen Display)  -Display Settings- Display Reset. Once done, is the Self Test fuzzy? If not, the monitor is fine and the issue is with the video cards or their drivers.
* Turn off the monitor
* Unplug the monitor from the computer (ALL cables)
* Plug the monitor power cord directly into the wall socket
* Turn on the monitor
* The floating red/green/blue/white dialog box should appear on screen against a black background
