256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro Compatability with 2007WFP

I just received my new computer.  The above mentioned video card and monitor were purchased.  It seems as though the DVI connections are not the same.  The monitor connection has 2 blocks of nine pins and one flat pin, while the video card has a bunch of small pins.  The cable supplied does not plug into the video card.  It has the mating configuraiton that the monitor has - on both ends.

Do I need an adapter or something else?

jkirchen,

What specific PC model (optiplex, dimension etc.)?

The monitor has a DVI-D single link connector.

I will get you that info after lunch.  I did see two different cables that looked like "Y" cables.  How do they work?

If I use them, am I still getting my picture/video in Digital or does it break it down to analog?

jkirchen,

Great. You have them. One Y-splitter has two blue analog VGAs, the other y-splitter has two white digital DVI-Ds. Just connect the single end to the video card and one of the DVI-Ds to the monitor to get a digital signal.

jkirchen,

The 256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro low profile video card that ships on the Dimension C521 and XPS 210 requires the use of a DMS-59 adapter dongle to connect the video card to your monitor.

J9256 Cable Kit for DMS-59 Connectors (Includes Dual VGA and Dual DVI Cables)

Are you saying you did not receive any? Please provide me with the following information in a private message, not on the board -
Name:
Shipping address:
Phone:
Service tag number:
Reason: J9256 Cable Kit for DMS-59 Connectors (Includes Dual VGA and Dual DVI Cables)

Chris,

This is a timely posting...

I have the same video card in an Optiplex 740 which was just recieved. By accident, we ordered a few of these PCs with this card, but only with the VGA adapter cables. We really wanted the dual DVI adapter cables too.

Can you tell me exactly how we could get the DVI adapters? Would we need to order the J9256 Cable Kit, or are they available as a separate part number? (we already have the dual VGA adapters).

The cable you mentioned worked.  I have not increased to max resolution and hope to do so this weekend.  I understand some customers had trouble with this.

gatownsend,

Contact spare parts (1-800-372-3355) and see if they can sell the DVI splitter.

I have the same video card and monitor mentioned in the subject line of this thread, except that it is "Full Height" graphics card. Also, it's in a OptiPlex 745 Minitower. To connect using the DVI cable, do I use the same cable kit recommended above?

Thank you.
