Connect Dell XPS 15 to Monitor with DP
Hi All,
I have recently purchased the Dell XPS 15. I am now considering purchasing a monitor (SAMSUNG 27” Curved Monitor LC27F591FDEXXM). I have researched for hours on the best and fastest way to connect these two devices. The computer has and HDMI and thunderbolt 3 port and the monitor has and HDMI and Displayport. Any ideas on the best way and cable to do this?

The LC27F591FDEXXM monitor maxes to 1920x1080 on all of its ports. So you could use a less expensive HDMI to HDMI cable. Rather than a USB Type-C (TB3) to DP cable. I would only use the USB Type-C (TB3) to DP cable if I were getting a monitor that could do higher resolutions.

Thanks so much for your help. Just to clarify if i wanted higher resolutions i would want to get a 4K monitor. Would I still use an HDMI to HDMI cable for a 4K monitor or should i instead look at using its display port?

For the higher resolutions, I would use the laptop TB3 out port to DP on a monitor.
