Dell S2340M Monitor Goes Black Randomly

Just got a new Mac Mini 2012 model, it's running into my new Dell S2340M Monitor via DVI cable. The screen randomly goes to sleep, or turns black for no reason, even in the middle of use. Also, it will often switch to a static screen, like the input selector is wrong or something. I have to turn off the monitor and then turn it back on to clear this up. Ive tried changing settings but nothing works. I've changed display settings in OS X, and the settings on the monitor itself. Any thoughts? I really like the monitor while its working so I don't want to take it back, but I probably need to. Thanks.
