Dell U2713HM on Asus HD7970-DC2T

From today I am the proud owner of a Dell U2713HM monitor, which I have connected to my Asus HD7970-DC2T videocard, using the supplied Dual link DVI cable that came with my monitor.

Sadly, I can't set my resolution to 2560x1440.

Only resolution I get is 1920x1080

I tried both DVI-ports on my videocard (with a reboot after changes), installed the Dell driver for the monitor, researched the internet if it's possible to set the maximum resolution using DVI (should be according to both the website of Dell and the specs of my videocard).

So any help would be very much appreciated.

In the end I managed to solve my own problem.

After a lot of digging around on the internet, I found that the mentioned videocard has a tiny switch which decides wether one of the DVI-ports is dual link or not.

So I switched off my pc, opened the computercase, flipped the switch, restarted the system and there it was: 2560x1440

The position of the mentioned switch can be seen on the following picture:

I hope this will help people who runs into the same problem.
