Dimension 8400 W/ E173FPs Monitor. No POST screen
My monitor works great... Except when booting up. I cannot reach the BIOS/setup screen because the monitor reads (Cannot display this video mode)
I have tried leaving the monitor power off until the BIOS screen and then turning it on but that didn't help.
I have the CD that came with the PC but don't see any drivers on it.
I have searched the Dell drivers page but don't come up with my driver.
I have an E173FP"s" but can only find the driver for E173FP"b" Did not install that driver.
This is a reloaded XP MCE2005 OS because the original Maxtor drive died soon after I bought the PC. and I didn't hook up the above mentioned monitor until after the reload. My old CRT monitor will display the POST screen.
Any ideas? I am lost. Thanks!

Ca Ching! Problem solved! Thanks! The video card is an AVI X300 that came with the system. The problem was that I had my HDTV hooked up to the S-Video port as well as my VGA E173FP LCD monitor. I unplugged the S-video cord and all is well. I bought my HDTV back in 2001 and there is no DVI, HDMI connection on it :-( (I know, isn't that stupid)? so I have to use S-video for my Media Center PC. It looks quite well for an S-video connection. As I read your comment about not needing drivers before a boot I bonked myself in the forehead. I knew that, but had a 3 hour brain freeze while trying to figure this out. Thanks so much for your advice.
