E228WFP Constantly Going Black

I have an E228WFP that I bought with an Inspiron desktop back in October of 2008. The screen keeps going black. It will first happen a few minutes after I turn it on for the day, and then turning it off and on again will bring the picture back, but about 5 seconds later, it's black again. This started happening sometime around last December. I just swapped it out for another monitor we had around the house temporarily because I've been busy, but that monitor is a bit small. So, I'm looking for a new replacement now, but I want to know if there's any way to easily fix this one. Other than this problem, it's an excellent monitor. The warranty is up on it, obviously.

Dell does not replace monitors once the warranty period you paid for has expired. We do not repair monitors or sell internal monitor components. You can try these 3rd party repair sites:
