E2417H, how to connect to Precision 5520?
Hello,
I have a Dell Precision 5520, with HDMI out port. I need to connect it to my E2417H which has DisplayPort in port or VGA in port. I bought a HDMI-to-DP converter cable, but it does not work. What should I do? How can I proceed to connect it? Any ready-cable to advice?

Computer HDMI cannot upconvert to Monitor DP via a straight cable. What you purchased only works in one direction =
Computer DP out port --> DP to HDMI cable --> Monitor HDMI in port
Go with this setup =
Precision 5520 HDMI out port --> HDMI to VGA cable --> E2417H VGA in port

Thank you for your reply.
I tried it and it works...but quality isin't that top.
Any solution to use HDMI/DP ? even by mixing some cables ?

Understand that both the E2417H VGA in and DP in can only do 1920x1080 60Hz. So if you are already running at 1920x1080 60Hz using HDMI to VGA, I doubt the below configuration will look any better.
Computer HDMI out port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> HDMI in to DP out converter --> DP to DP cable --> Monitor DP in port
