External monitor resolution/aspect ratio issue
Just got an XPS-13, which I'm using with a Dell 1704FPT 19-inch monitor. My problem is the monitor isn't displaying the correct resolution. It works, I've got it plugged into a VGA adaptor, but no matter what res I set it too the image is stretched, replicating the XPS-13's aspect ratio.
The XPS works with other monitors, including an identical 1704. It's quite a head-scratcher.

If another 1704FP works using the same cabling and adapter, then this 1704FP must be faulty. That is not surprising considering that the 1704FP are 13 years old.
