I am unable to see the pictures provided by you. I would suggest you to provide the pictures again so that I can forward it to the team concerned and keep you posted.
I also purchased a U2713HM monitor (February 28th and it was delivered on March 14th).
I am very happy with the size and resolution of the monitor but am very annoyed by the "bleed" and perceived colored corners...
Top left corner - moderately yellow/red.
Bottom left corner - very yellow, on darker screens I see a faint small "flashlight" about two inches left of the Dell logo.
Bottom right corner - looks OK I think, but looks different because of the other corners being so "off".
Top right corner - a bit light compared to bottom right but ok...
I really notice the color in the corners with any video or game with movement as the images seem pass through the "colored" corners and pick up the yellow/blue and stand out more.
I am using factory settings with the RGB preset with no adjustments to brightness or contrast (both at 75) as I believe the monitor was calibrated at the factory...
Quick update on mine (see above post) - I had a replacemnet arrive yesterday (has a Jan 2013 Manufacturing Date) and it's pretty much the same as the photo I posted with a very yellow bottom left corner, and I find it very distracting watching video or playing games. I will be sending it back as well i guess.
I would like to know if it will be possible to find a panel that isn't yellow like this or not??? Am I just wasting my time???
A response from a Dell rep would be much appreciated.
after reading many threads from this forum and other forums. i'm starting to believe it's a lost cause. because everyone that had replacement monitors still had the same bleeding problem.
Dell needs to address is issue ASAP and revise this monitor!!!!
Our apologies that you all are not happy with the monitor. But there will not be a "revision" change since they do meet our manufacturer specifications.
* Go back to the top of this Monitor Forum * Open "FAQ Monitor" * Open "Backlight or Color/Tint variance"
So why did tech support send me (and many others) a replacement unit if your statement above says it's within specs? * They do not know the policy. They should not have sent any replacements based on those pictures. DELL-ChrisM
Now I am on hold waiting to find out why the prepaid courier sticker was not included for the return of the first monitor... good times...
i believe Dell hasn't figure out a way to completely seal the bleeding with this new "IPS-AH" type display, heck even Apple has this same bleeding problem on their newest imac displays which is the same "IPS-AH" technology.
because Dell's 24" LCD display can safely say there's no bleeding what so ever.
til the solution surfaces, we are just sitting ducks staring the same yellow-ish glow in the corners when we watch movies or play games. so sad :(
To my eyes (not a graphics pro, a regular office / web / database user), the backlight bleed in these photos is absolutely excessive.
The response from Dell stating that this is A-OK with their official policy is quite shocking. It's the sort of response I would expect from a cheapie no-name manufacturer, not Dell.
I currently have a six-year old Dell 2005FPW, which has served me very well. Just checked again, it has no visible backlight bleed. Want to upgrade to a bigger, higher res monitor, but will not buy the U2713HM while this problem persists.
I'm glad to hear they are replacing this monitor. The bleeding looks extremely severe to me. If you barely notice it that's one thing, but the screen you photographed is clearly defective.
I also bought a Dell U2713HM and I wish I read up about this display model before making a purchase. I too have back light bleed. Yellow on the bottom left hand corner, and a brighter white on the right hand corner. Also, when the whites shine on each of the bottom corners they come out more black than the top corners which have GOOD back light without the bleed.
The absolutely disheartening thing about the purchase is that I felt mislead that this was a quality display with a rich viewing experience. I have a Rev A00 monitor which was manufactured on Feb 20, 2013. Customers who received this monitor Rev A00 are receiving "passable" product standards that doesn't represent the expected quality which spending $800 for a premium monitor demands.
I just purchased this display and spoke to customer care representatives to replace the unit which is on its way. From what I'm reading here having YELLOW on the back light on your screen is acceptable by the team at Dell and they feel that this doesn't warrant a replacement. The comments on this thread by end users paints a entirely different picture of satisfaction. No where on the product page states that the uniformity of the back light may vary in anyway.
Spending $800 for a 27 inch Ultra sharp premium monitor and receiving a product that has yellow on the back light and whites that have black tones isn't good Dell. Don't tell your customers too bad, at least offer a rebate, or a refund.
Doesn't sound good for me getting a good one third try based on the posts... My first two were January 2013 A00 models. Should have the third one by Friday or Monday. I use photoshop a fair amount for image editing at home and this stuff really drives me nuts. I have had two cheap HP 2007 monitors that were very even color and backlight. I use three U2412's at work and they are perfect and they are the reason I bought a U2713 for home... This drives me nuts.

These should work, unless the issue is that your proxy blocks Dropbox.

Is this ok for a $800 monitor???
Please advise. Thanks.

i too have similar bleeding and glowing on the monitor i received yesterday.
this seems to be a problem that effect this model number. Dell needs better QA to eliminate this problem to shipped to customers.
i'm contacting dell to get a replacement for mine.
However the real question is, when will this be fixed permanently?
any Dell employees care to chime in on this question

And they are sending me another one even after I explained the uneven color and backlight rules above to tech support...
