Monitor Failed...Newbie needs advice

My Dell Dimension 8300 works fine, but the 17 inch flat panel from 2003 pooped out.   Everything worked fine for 7 years, so I'm not complaining!

Will be buying a NEW monitor.    I've never purchased a monitor before...can I buy any brand to connect with my computer?

Look at your video card and tell us what connections it has.

Can you share it with us? I encountered the same problem, I've been always concerned about it, Thanks very much! Anybody can answer it?

What monitor you purchase depends on the video card ports and what is the highest resolution the video card will allow.
