Monitor Switch

Hi

I just bought a projector, and since I dont want to use the projector all the time I bought a monitorSwitch. But now when i hooked up the monitor and the projector to the monitorSwitch the monitor itself doesnt seem to understand that it should be "on". It is on and it has a signal but it doesnt show anything....

What can I do....Hope you all can read my bad english
