Monitor backlight bleed

I just bought a new U2414h and I noticed a blotch of white on the lower left side anytime I'm displaying darker photos or even when the monitor goes blank. This problem is noticeable under a lit viewing condition and even if the back light is all the way up or all the way down. I know that IPS monitors have the inherent problem of uneven backlight bleed, but I think this is much more than average.

This problem is seen even when the Dell display port cable (what I normally use) is unplugged, so it's not my computer. This problem is seen during diagnostics, in fact, the following pictures were taken using the tool that changes my screen to different colors.

KaeporaG,

That monitor is within manufacturer specifications for backlight variance. But since you are inside of the initial 30 days from the invoice date, you have the option of returning it for credit. If you tell technical support that you want to return it, they may offer you a New Exchange as a compromise.
