S2240L & HDMI

Hello,

I've got a S2240L, and it works pretty well when I use VGA at 1920x1080@60Hz across all my machines. However, when I use HDMI to connect it to either of my two machines, at 1920x1080@60Hz, it displays a lot of red & blue pixel streaks. At 1024x768@75Hz, however, it works completely fine.  In a lot of in-between resolutions, it doesn't work. Note that when the display doesn't work properly, the audio also stutters. Is this a problem with the HDMI cable, or something?

As per the WHAT'S IN THE BOX section in the dell site

Dell Display Manager Software CD

Drivers and documentation media

I would recommend your to install the Dell Display Manager Software and Drivers for the Monitor from the CD provided in the box. And update graphics card drivers on your 2 machines from the vendors site. If its onboard graphics suggest you to goto support.dell.com and get the latest graphics card driver. If its an add on video card like ATI or NVIDIA suggest you to visit ATI.com / NVIDIA.com to get the latest drivers and install and restart comp. Then check for functionality.

Hi!

I use Arch (Linux), so I'm up-to-date. Moreover, I also use Windows 8 x86_64, and from that, with updated drivers, I get *no* output on the monitor, at all.

Shikhin,

What specific HDMI cable are you using? You want to be sure that the HDMI to HDMI cable is High Speed.
