S2721DGF, 4K source devices

Dell is not going to "upgrade" this monitor to fix something that it was never designed to do. The S2721DGF was marketed as a 2K 2560x1440 60Hz/120Hz/144Hz HDMI/165Hz DP monitor. Neither the sales site nor the User's Guide ever mentions 4K, 4k, down convert, or down sample. The S2721DGF has a built in EDID table (Preset display modes page 14) that shows the resolution and vertical frequency Hz capability.

It is up to the source device to read our EDID table and produce the required video signal for our monitor to work with the source device. The issues you are facing with 4K devices like the PS4 Pro and PS5 will have to be addressed by Sony.
