S3422DWG, AMD Adrenalin settings, no FreeSync Premium Pro
Hey everyone,
I recently bought a S3422DWG and there is a thing which bothers me big time. My S3422DWG only shows up as "Adaptive Sync Compatible" in Radeon settings instead "FreeSync Premium" or "Premium Pro" like my G34WQC or Dell UltraGear.
So I'm just curious if this is a problem on my end or a general issue with this model? Does anyone use this monitor with an AMD GPU? I mean, this monitor gets advertised as "Premium Pro"-certified so it makes you wonder why it wouldn't show up.
I tried to connect my S3422DWG to 4x different systems with the same result. Changing DP cables didn't helped either. AMD Support told me, that it's an issue on Dell's end, so here we go.
Any feedback is appreciated.
Best regards

The Dell S3422DWG sales site list "Adaptive Sync" and its subset, "AMD FreeSync Premium Pro Technology". This is showing that AMD FreeSync Premium Pro Technology is a subset component of Adaptive Sync.

There are other users also reporting that the AMD Adrenalin Control Panel calls the S3422DWG, Adaptive Sync Compatible. But once those users started a game, within the games settings they saw, Freesync Premium Pro. So more proof that this is a Radeon driver issue versus a hardware malfunction of the S3422DWG.

Hello Chris,
Thanks for the reply. I'm already in a conversation with a Dell support member and I don't want to cause any trouble here. I'll rather wait and see how that works out.
Yes, AMD FreeSync does work in games but like already mentioned, it will show up as "Adaptive Sync" and not as "FreeSync Premium Pro".

I was hoping to find such an answer, where people would experience the same problem. I absolutely agree with you, that it could be a driver issue OR a firmware issue on the Dell monitor. I can't confirm that "Premium Pro" is being shown in the game settings though, 'cause I didn't tested any official Premium Pro game yet.
Premium Pro requirements are :
Most of these requirements are working on the Dell (HDR more or less but could also be a driver issue), so I guess it must be "Premium Pro" but won't show up as such in Radeon.
Just waiting for DELL support to come back at me regarding this issue. They said, that it might take 2-3 days.
