U2412M Dell Monitor Driver Installer wont install

Plugged in my new U2412M and followed the instructions to install driver and colour profile. Downloaded a file called "dell monitor driver installer" . On running get this message. In Device manager the monitor is correct identified as U2412M, hit update driver and it went off and found one dell 11/4/11 Ver 1.0.0.0.

        Dell Plug and Play Monitor - DELA07A

Drivers for the following monitors have been found:
        None

Drivers for the following connected monitor can be installed:
        None

Please connect your monitor before running this program.

Tried going to Dell support site and found a download for new driver dated 22/2/13 A00-00. File is called  DELL_U2412M_MONITOR_A00_00_DRVR_K5Y8Y but when I double click it sort of installed to c\dell\drivers, extracting and then says "close". I went to the folder and clicked the driver installer and this time showed a driver to install which I did however the driver date in device manager hasn't changed.

So firstly why doesn't the install path from the CD work?  USB hub cable definitely working.  secondly have I now got the most recent driver?
