U2414H, A00

Hi,

Sorry to jump onto this thread, but just bought a Dell U2414H and it is an A00 and manufactured in December 13! Surely I should have got an A02 by now? Same blank screen on Displayport from iMac and random sleep issues. Can an A00 model be upgraded or should I send it back?

Started your own thread for you. You cannot upgrade the firmware. If you bought the monitor directly from Dell new, you should have received the latest version. From whom was the purchase made? What is the 20 digit serial number?

The serial number tells us that the U2414H was manufactured on December 22, 2013. You stated that you bought it from them on February 16, 2015. That means they had it on their shelf for 13 months. This always happens when you do not buy directly from Dell new. You have choices =
1. Return it to them for refund. Then buy directly from Dell UK new
2. Contact Dell UK and ask for a monitor exchange. You will get a refurbished replacement but maybe it will be A03

Hi

Thank you for this Chris

I purchased it from PCBUYIT (UK) and was assured I had 3 year swap out warranty direct with Dell.

I couldn't believe I bought it new on 16th February and it was manufactured over a year ago and A00 not A03.

I am having it freeze in standby occasionally in display port mode (have to unplug it from mains) and also only recognised as a TV in Apple Mac. (other than that I like the monitor)

I was told I could send it back by PCBUYIT for refund but it was over £30 for insured courier. I can email photo of invoice and labels.

Serial Number is CN-09TG46-XXXXX-XXX-XXXX

Kind regards

Thanks for your help.

I thought it would be a new replacement from Dell if less than 30 days?

Nope. Not in this case. We know from the serial number that the monitor was built on December 22, 2013. Again, return it to the seller. Buy directly from us. Then, the 30 day NEW exchange policy would apply.
