U2414H Monitor Connection to Laptop
I have an Acer Laptop with VGA and HDMI ports, with no mini or regular display ports. So if I bought an HDMI to HDMI cable, would I be able to connect the laptop with the monitor?

Yes. See page 9 of the U2414H User's Guide.
Acer Laptop HDMI out port --> HDMI to HDMI cable --> U2414H #6 HDMI in port 1
