U2417HWI, how to turn WiFi off?

The always-open direct WiFi network is bugging the IT people. I can't find anywhere in the setting or the manual how to just turn it off.

So going to the Menu OSD (On Screen Display) -Input Source and removing the check from Wireless does NOT turn the WiFi off?

For my notes, send me via Private Message the service tag number.

No, changing the input to HDMI does not turn the Wifi off. I obviously only use it plugged in via the HDMI port anyway, but the Wifi signal is always on. I've checked the wireless settings (while the input is set to wireless, but plugging a mouse into the monitor and clicking the on-screen settings) and I can change the band, name, etc, but can't turn it off.

I have sent an email to the Display Team. But I also cannot find any way to turn wireless off. You might ask your purchasing department to consider replacing the U2417HWI with the standard U2417H.

In addition to choosing HDMI, change "Auto Select" to Off. Then retest.

Auto Select is off and the Wifi remains. I'm at one of those places where IT will complain, but there's nobody who will buy me a new monitor...

So either they are incorrect and the Wireless is on the entire time polling your network, or the monitor is defective.

It's not that the monitor is polling - trying to connect to a network; it's broadcasting its own ad-hoc network.

So you have two choices =
* Return it for refund
* Ask IT to setup a rule to ignore it
