U2515H not recognised by laptop with Windows 10

Hi

My computer is not recognising my monitor. I am not sure if it is a problem with the monitor driver or Windows 10.

Computer: Lenovo IdeaPad 100

Intel i3 processor

8RAM

64 bit

NVidia Geoforce graphics card

I am using Windows 10 Pro.

Monitor: Dell U2515h

I have updated all the drivers and downloaded the Dell Display Manager software.

I am connecting to the monitor with a HDMI to HDMI cable.

How can I get the computer to recognise the monitor?

Thanks for your help.

I doubt that the monitor is defective. This sounds more like a Windows 10 driver issue. This driver is compatible with Windows 10. Is that the one you installed? Are you able to set the monitor as extended? At what resolution?

Thanks Chris for your help.

I have since found out that Windows 10 does not support HDMI. I have found complaints about it dating back to July 2015 and they still haven't fixed it. It's crazy!

I am going to try to find a USB to miniDP cable to connect the computer to the monitor.

Windows 10 does support HDMI. We have not tested on the Lenovo IdeaPad. Before buying anything, you should post on the Lenovo Forums to get their thoughts.
