U2713HM + Latitude E6430 + Docking Station = 1920x1080

I have a Latitude E6430 with a docking station. The docking station has a Display Port.  I purchased a U2713HM. I have updated all the drivers, have it plugged into the DisplayPort using a dual link DVI cable and converter. The monitor will only display HD (1920x1080). When attempting to create a custom resolution of 2560x1440 with the Intel Control Panel,  I get the following message: "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity". I have tried with a lesser resolution, and the same message appears. What can I do to get this monitor to work?

ColoK,

The monitor does not dictate what resolution it shows. The laptop dictates resolution via its video card. The dock DP (DisplayPort) is only going to push a resolution that the laptop is capable of pushing.

For now, forget the dock and converter cabling. Connect the laptop VGA to the Dell provided VGA to VGA cable, then to the VGA on the U2713HM. The VGA on the U2713HM can do up to 2048x1152. What resolution is the laptop pushing while using this setup?
