U2713HM Monitor - Unable to get highest resolution - Dell Dimension 9200 computer
Today received my new U2713HM monitor but I can't manage to get the top resolution. Only 1920X1080 maximum.
The provided DVI cable which came with the computer is the one I'm using. (I was surprised to find it is different from the DVI cable I had with the previous screen.)
The computer indicates a Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (Microsoft Corporation WDDM) controler or card.
I've tried the reset to factory settings using the buttons on the screen itself.
The Windows 7 screen configuration never shows the higher resolutions. Only up to 1920X1080.
Any pointers to solve this would be much appreciated.
Many thanks for reading.

Hi Dr. Rolando Montano,
Welcome to the community.
Please download the latest drivers for ATI X1300 card of your system from the link below:

Once new drivers are installed restart the system and check again.
Thanks and Regards

Many thanks Sandeep P:
I installed both the Catalyst Software Suite and now the WDM Integrated Driver.
I had installed the drivers in the Dell CD that came with the screen before.
I am using the cable that came with the screen.
I tried updating the driver for the screen.
I tried disabling the driver for the Radeon X1300/X1550 Series (Microsoft Corportation - WDDM): Restarted the computer.
There is now a C:/Dell directory and also al c:/ATI directory with drivers.
I still have 1920 X 1080 resolution as maximum.
Hope you can sugest something further.
Many thanks again.
Good day.

Are you connecting via HDMI or single-link DVI?
HDMI 1.2a or older max out at 1920x1200 resolution, and so does single-link DVI.
To use a higher resolution than that you have to use either dual-link DVI or DisplayPort.
I strongly suspect that your ATI X1300/1550 videocard doesn't have a dual-link DVI connection, but if you know the exact model you can check with the manufacturer's website to confirm this.

As indicated before, I'm using the DVI cable that came with the U2713HM screen. It is different than the DVI cable I had before, has more pins. I suppose it is a dual-link DVI cable.
Thanks.

How can I find out which exact model my ATI X1300/1550 videocard is in order to find out if it has a "dual-link DVI" connection?

Thanks for your help Sandeep P.
I should say that I was never able to determine exactly the graphics card in my computer, but rather simply took it out and used it as an example at a computer shop and indicated the screen resolution and dual-link DVI indication mentioned here.
It would be good to have a procedure to determine exactly the card and then know what its maximum resolution is.
Good day.

Download AIDA32 if you have a 32 bit operating system or AIDA64 for a 64 bit operating system. These utilities give quite a comprehensive listing of everything in your computer system.
