U2713HM "Lines" on display with flickering
Not quite certain what the cause is but I've had two or three times now where the U2713HM begins flickering. I thought perhaps something was wrong with the MacBook Pro that I had connected to it but I disconnected it from the DP to MiniDP cable. Likewise, I disconnected the desktop workstation connected through DVI-D cable provided with the monitor.
It's more worrisome that when the monitor gets this way that it stays this way (the floating self diagnostic has the lines as well) for a few days and then goes away.
Is there a clocking issue or is this just a faulty unit?

Hi dcu4m,
Please try the following steps:
Steps to perform SELF-TEST:
Your monitor provides a self-test feature that allows you to check whether your monitor is functioning properly. Run the monitor self-test by performing the following steps:
The floating dialog box should appear on-screen (against a black background), if the monitor cannot sense a video signal and is working correctly. While in self-test mode, the power LED remains white. Also, depending upon the selected input, one of the dialog boxes shown below will continuously scroll through the screen.
If your monitor screen remains blank after you use the previous procedure, perform Built-in Diagnostics to check the hardware functionality of the monitor.
Steps to perform Built-in Diagnostics:
Your monitor has a built-in diagnostic tool that helps you determine if the screen abnormality you are experiencing is an inherent problem with your monitor, or with your computer and video card.
Note: You can run the built-in diagnostics only when the video cable is unplugged and the monitor is in self-test mode.
To run the built-in diagnostics:
The test is complete when the white screen appears. To exit, press Button 4 again.
If you do not detect any screen abnormalities upon using the built-in diagnostic tool, the monitor is functioning properly.
If the lines still appears on the screen on the aforementioned steps please try resetting the monitor back to factory settings as it can be an issue with the monitor hardware.
Steps to perform Factory Reset:
Reset all OSD settings to the factory preset values. Perform the following steps to reset the monitor settings:
Hope this helps. Please share the findings.

Hi romaindv,
If you have tried the aforementioned steps, then it indicates that the monitor has hardware failure.

My U2713HM monitor apparently has a hardware failure as well. I went through the steps you mentioned and there are several flickering lines horizontally across the grey test screen. Please help/advise!
Thanks,
Ryan.

My Dell U2713H also flicker horizontal lines some time, but when I connect to another PC that is no this issue.
So, I clean the original PC, use sand rubber to polish golden fingers of 2 old DDR2 Ram (5 years old)and display card(2 years old). It seem LCD flickering lines solved. Thus, I think bad contact old rams can cause display flickering.
