U3011 - sound is not working
Have just got a new Dell U3011 but the sound doesn't work. What could be the reason for that? I've installed the drivers.

PttRulez,
The U3011 does not have integrated speakers. It acts as a passthrough for audio when an HDMI or DP (DisplayPort) cable is connected from the computer into the monitor. Connect speaker/headphone to the audio jacks on the bottom of the monitor. Press the Menu button, go to Audio Settings and choose Line Out Source = HDMI or DP. Change Audio Configuration to 2.0 or 5.1, whatever works for your input.
If you are using VGA or DVI into the monitor, there is no audio being sent to those ports. You would need to connect the speaker/headphone directly to the computers audio out jack.

@PttRulez, if you want to listen to other Speakers than this passthrough, e.g. laptop speakers, click on the loudspeaker symbol in the lower right corner of your screen. The mixer appears with a monitor Icon on top of it. Click on the monitor icon. A property window opens. There select "Deactivate" and click OK.
You should now be able to hear the original speakers.
But it's ten months now that you wrote that; I just answered for others who found this post.
Best regards
