UP2414Q Does not wake from sleep

Hello, I'm having the same unresolved issue as many others here. I am using a UP2414Q which does not wake from sleep. The power LED jitters erratically and usually the monitor cable must be unplugged from the displayport.

I have an AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series with the 14.12 AMD Catalyst Omega Software driver running in Windows 8.1 x64.

Is the Windows 8.1 power plan set to High Performance?

* Get the monitor exchanged. Go back to the top of this Monitor Forum
* Open, "My 24" or smaller monitor does not have a Service Tag"

Chris,

I am having extreme difficulty communicating the concept of the information you referenced on the page "My 24" or smaller monitor does not have a Service Tag?"

The customer service agent says she has never heard of a knowledge base and doesn't know what to do with the information "Dell Monitor Replacement Policy and Procedure - Dell Global Policy Article ID: PNP13081"

She further says that without a STAG, or a Dell Purchase ID or a Dell Customer number, she can't help me and she can't provide me with any additional information, or any other phone number to call.

I decided to call again and log the process this time.

1:30PM: Called 1-800-624-9897, transferred

2:05PM: Lukas in "Customer Care" answers, informs me that he cannot help me because his
department doesn't deal with monitors

2:10PM: put on hold to transfer

2:55PM: Dan from "returns and cancellations" answers and says there is nothing his department
can do, offers to transfer me back to Customer Service or Technical Support. I refer him to
PNP13081 but he says he is unable to access that document and only Customer Service or
Technical support can access it. He transfers me.

3:05PM: Will from "Computer Department which handles Inspiron" answers. He asks a series of questions
including doing a internal test of the colors of the screen by pressing and holding the 1st and
4th buttons on the monitor. After some tests, he consults his notes. I ask him for his email address so I can send him my proof of purchase and the article PNP13081, but he says "maybe later."

3:21 PM: The call disconnects with no warning.

Please advise.

The graphics card is connected to the monitor using one of the two Mini DisplayPorts and using the cable provided with the UP2414Q into the DisplayPort on the UP2414Q

3840x2160 at what Hz?

* Open the Device Manager
(Press the Windows key and the Pause-Break key, Click the Hardware tab and the Device Manager button)
(If you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer up, and then click Search. Enter Device Manager in the search box, and click Device Manager)
* Open Universal Serial Bus Controllers
* Right click each one
* Click Properties
* Look for the Power Management tab
* Remove the check from, "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
* Click OK
* Re-test

Omega is just the name of the latest AMD driver release. I dowloaded it from here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

The resolution is 3840x2160

Instead of using the Omega driver, did you test the AMD driver? Open the monitor OSD (On Screen Display). What does it state at the bottom for Resolution: ?

3840x2160 at 60hz

I disabled the option to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" in each USB device as instructed. So far the monitor has twice responded from sleep mode, but it is creating this artifact as shown in the attached photos.

That is because the video card driver is creating two 1920x2160 tiles instead of single 3840x2160 tile. The AMD Catalyst Control Center has an option for Eyefinity. This is the means by which AMD combines the primary 1920x2160 tile with the secondary 1920x2160 tile.
* Open the AMD Catalyst Control Center
* Open AMD Eyefinity Multi-Display
* Click Create Eyefinity Display Group horizontally = Primary 1920x2160 tile Secondary 1920x2160 tile
* Look for the option to combine them as one 3840x2160 tile

That's how it is already set up; and always has been

And the vertical line was not there before "disabled the option to Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power in each USB device"?

Weird. What happens to the v-line if you disconnect the monitor USB upstream cable from the computer USB port?

I am not positive that the line was NOT there before or not. Nothing changes about the vertical line if I unplug the USB cable. The line does disappear if I power off the monitor and power it back up, however.
