UP3216Q, Quadro NVS 510, no 10 bit at 4K 60Hz

Hi,

For some reason I cannot get 10 bit color at 4K 60Hz. It is stuck to 8 bit color at 4K 60Hz. I run it on NVS 510 card (Quadro Kepler), capable of 4k 60Hz, 10 bit and DP1.2. All drivers up to date. Windows 10 64 bit.

Connection is fed through mini DisplayPort (card) to DisplayPort (monitor) DP1.2 capable cable (used two different DP1.2 cables so it's not a cable issue I suppose)

Now, if I switch DP1.2 off (through my monitor's on screen menu), then I can set 10 bit color at native resolution, no problem, but only at 30Hz. No 60Hz is then shown as an option. If, on the other hand, I switch the DP1.2 mode on, I can choose between 60Hz and 30Hz but I am only given 8 bits color at all resolutions. Is this monitor not capable of running 10 bit color at 60Hz or am I missing something?

Please help.

Thanks,

D.

The UP3216Q Sharp IPS panel is hardware capable of 10 bit. We know that the Nvidia Quadro video cards will not show 10 bit in DirectX or Direct3D like the consumer Nvidia GTX video cards. Quadro will only show 10 bit in the specific OpenGL application like Photoshop CS6. So set it to 4K 60Hz, then open the OpenGL application and look for the color output setting.
